The paper packaging is hand made by skilled artisans and is made from 100% FSC certified post-consumer pulp (recycled or reclaimed materials). It takes 2-6 weeks for the packaging to completely biodegrade so the seeds will generally sprout beginning at the two-week mark (but as early as 4 days), provided the paper is soaked in water or planted in moist soil. The Packaging has a germination rate of 89-91%. The seeds are viable for 4 years after production. The wildflower packaging is embedded with a non-invasive, non-GMO mixture of seeds; Alyssum, Catchfly, Birds Eye, Baby Blue Eye, and Pink Maiden.

The inner plastic packaging is made with 100% compostable plastic, degrading within 1-3 years if left alone, quicker if composted. Our plastic wrap at the end of its useful life will begin to fragment and oxidize by the effects of light and heat. It then becomes assimilable by soil micro-organisms, and eventually disappears, leaving only water, carbon dioxide and biomass.
